I am a Colorado Springs native and I love all things Colorado. I moved away to attend college near Houston, Texas but I knew I needed to move back to Colorado once I graduated. I have always been very into sports and I even played soccer at the Division 1 collegiate level. My husband and I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as we can especially being so close to the mountains. We have 9 animals, including dogs, cats and a horse! You can typically find me spending time with my wonderful friends and family, cooking with my husband, or adventuring around Colorado.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I always knew I wanted to work in a helping profession, and I found my passion in social work. I attended Prairie View A&M University and received my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. I received my MSW from Newman University, based in Kansas but I attended in Colorado Springs. Since being in the field, I have worked in community-based family advocacy, inpatient and most recently in the military system at Peterson Air Force Base. Most of my time in the field has been working with children and adolescents; however, I enjoy working with young adults/adults as well. I have worked in treating individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, personality disorders and others. I have taken additional trainings in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and am hopeful to obtain training in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) in the future.
Why work with Carly?
I believe that a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is the key to helping my clients feel successful in therapy. I use a strengths-based and client-centered approach that allows me to meet my clients where they are at and help them in their journey to healing. My approach to therapy is to help my clients identify their individual strengths that they can utilize to reach their goals. I aim to make all my clients feel empowered to make the changes they want to see in their lives.
