About Laura

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I moved to Colorado with my husband in 2017. I have one daughter and 4 fur babies. My husband is currently active-duty Air Force. I love to be outdoors, camping, hiking, arts and crafts, baking, watching movies, and playing with my doggies. Two of my favorite quotes are: “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” Eleanor Roosevelt; “Loving ourselves through the process owning our story is the bravest thing we will ever do.” Brene Brown

I have my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary’s University. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am EMDR trained, Gottman Marital Therapy Level 1 Certified, and I am currently working on my Licensed Addiction Counselor credential. I began my career as a victim advocate for the Rape Crisis Center of San Antonio. For the past 6 years, I have worked as a school counselor for PK4 to 8th grade while in Texas and a therapist specializing in couples therapy and domestic violence in the Pueblo and Fremont County area. I believe in a systemic approach to therapy. I specialize in couples and family therapy, EMDR, and trauma focused treatments.

Why work with Laura?

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and welcoming environment. I believe therapy can be an extremely vulnerable and empowering experience. I want to encourage my clients to foster healthy relationships with self, partners, and family.
