About Lisa

I am a Colorado Springs Native. I have one child and one fur baby. When I’m not spending time watching Broadway musicals, hiking or just hanging out with my child and they’re friends, or playing with my fur-baby, I can be found reading (my favorite series is a toss-up between Harry Potter and The Hunger Games), watching TV (I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead and Supernatural) or Movies (I love comedies and horror movies), or just listening to music (I listen to pretty much everything and am always looking for new music to add to my collection). I also enjoy crocheting, making my own soaps and bath bombs and am learning to make decorations using resin. Fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is a sloth, some might say I have a small obsession with them. I am also a fan of University of Alabama Football, Roll Tide!!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained my master’s degree in Social Work from Newman University in 2015. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Social Work, with a minor in sociology, from Colorado State University-Pueblo. I have experience helping individuals develop skills needed to gain and maintain employment, I have experience as a school social worker in an elementary school, I’ve worked in a child welfare agency providing in-home therapeutic interventions and parenting skills, and have finally found a home providing therapy to individuals between 12-22 years of age. Areas of specialty are Depression Disorders; Anxiety Disorders; Non-Suicidal Self-Injury; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Yoga-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Y-CBT); LGBTQ+; Grief

Why work with Lisa?

My goal as a therapist is to meet the people I work with where they are and, using a strengths based approach (and the occasional and appropriate amount of humor), help them not only to identify and accomplish their personal goals for their mental health but to also assist them in the development of new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving to situations and stimuli.
