I was raised in a small community in Southern Oregon, where I initially began my career in counseling. I have been married for 22 years and have three children. My spouse currently serves in the United States Army and has been on active duty for 16 years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, running, meditating and completing household projects. I am passionate about paying it forward, and seeing joy spread around the community.
I began my counseling career in 2004 after receiving my Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from Oregon Institute of Technology, working for a nonprofit organization offering group therapy, individual and family counseling to individuals struggling with chemical dependence and substance abuse. I then received my Master of Science in Professional counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2018. Prior to joining the team at the Family Care Center, I worked as a clinical provider within a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Colorado Springs; focused on providing crisis stabilization and trauma processing. I am experienced in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma and Affairs, Marriage and family therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I specialize in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, child abuse, family violence, sexual assault, and civilian and military trauma.
