About Sarah

I am originally from Virginia. I grew up outside of Washington, D.C. and love the culture of the city. My passions growing up were athletics, animals, and band. I relocated to Colorado just over two years ago with my husband and our two pups. I love being so close to the mountains. Now, you can find me hiking, taking a spin class, trying a new recipe, or just walking the dogs around the neighborhood.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. What drew my interest to social work is my passion for working with people and my interest in mental health. I attended the University of Virginia for an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology, and Virginia Commonwealth University for my Master's of Social Work. I have worked in community, school-based, and inpatient settings since entering the field. The bulk of my past work is with children and teens treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, ODD, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and people in crisis. While I find CBT and DBT to be effective treatment models, my practice is flexible to fit the needs of the client.

Why work with Sarah?

I believe in resiliency, and that all people have the capacity to live a life that is meaningful to them. My aim with each client is to identify current strengths, choose goals that are important to them, and assist in moving through the steps to reach those goals. I enjoy working with clients whether or not they know the next steps for themselves, or even know if therapy is how to get there. My intention, through the therapist-client relationship, is to create comfort, safety, and room for growth and healing.
