Katie is originally from Tallahassee, Florida but moved to Colorado in late elementary school. She loves warm weather and the beach, so she returned to Florida to attend Florida State University. She met her husband while she was there, and they have been married since 2018. Her husband is a decorated Marine Corps combat veteran that now practices as an athletic trainer. She has a passion for animals and has her own dog and cat at home. Katie loves to run and be outdoors in general, whether she is gardening or camping.
Katie developed a passion for counseling after seeing the many ways it can change lives. She received her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Denver in 2016. Currently she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with adolescents/young adults and adults. She has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings treating eating disorders, mood disorders, suicidal thoughts, trauma, depression and anxiety. She has additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and trauma focused therapy.
