About Melissa

I was born and raised in Texas and have lived in Colorado Springs for over 25 years. I am a proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran and a proud mother of an active-duty Armor officer. I have been married to my college sweetheart since 1997. Since our two daughters are grown now, I get more time to enjoy fly fishing, reading, and hanging out with our 2 hunting dogs and 3 cats.

I received my MSW from the University of Houston in 1996. My experience has been working with children, adolescents and adults challenged with: anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, parenting issues, adoption, domestic violence, family violence and sexual abuse.

Why work with Melissa?

I have a trauma-informed approach/training to walk alongside people to improve their overall well-being. I believe that everyone wants and deserves to feel heard, accepted and loved. Therapy should be individually structured for the goals of the person or family. I am humbled and grateful to be able to work as a therapist with military families.
