Telehealth
Virtual Appointments

Many people are unable to attend a traditional therapy session in one of our offices. We want you to know, we understand.

Perhaps:

  • You live in a rural area, far from any traditional therapist’s office
  • You have a medical issue that prevents you from travel
  • You’re caring for a child or a loved one and are unable to get away
  • You are in a high risk category that prevents you from being around other people

How Telehealth Works

You must have a patient portal account set up with the company. You should have been set up for an account during intake, but if not, please contact the front desk who can help you.

You will then need to access the patient portal through our website or at https://familycarecenterintouch.insynchcs.com/Login.

Family Care Center uses a secure, HIPAA compliant Zoom video platform that is integrated into our electronic health records system. This allows us to conduct a secure face-to-face conversations between you and your therapist or medication provider.

The video conference is completely secure and confidential, and nothing is recorded or kept in any way.

When you schedule a telehealth appointment, your appointment will be visible in your patient portal. All you have to do is click on that appointment and you will be connected to your provider by video at the time of your appointment. If you do not have a patient portal set up, please contact our front desk and they will help you get one established.

What Do You Need?

  1. Internet connection (with enough bandwidth to support a video conference call)
  2. A computer, tablet, or smartphone
  3. A quiet, private room in your home

Your therapist will meet with you from his or her private office, ensuring you have a fully confidential environment, just as you would if you were meeting in person for your appointment.

If you’re currently seeing a therapist from our offices but suddenly face a life situation that prevents you from travel, telehealth can be a perfect way to continue meeting with your provider, even though you can’t make it to our offices.

Is Telehealth Effective?

Telehealth has been shown to be as effective for people in all different kinds of life situations. This is why many insurance plans have chosen to include telehealth as part of their standard coverage.

Will My Insurance Company Cover Telehealth?

The majority of health insurers now cover telehealth as part of their standard mental health benefit, but every policy is different. We suggest you contact your insurance provider to verify with them prior to making an appointment.

How Do I Get Started?
